1 Test/Exam Per Day

Student should only be scheduled for maximum one test/exam per day. There is no minimum rest time between scheduled tests/exams. E.g. one test can be scheduled in the evening and the next one can be the following morning.

Examples might include providing the student with a discussion prompt or question ahead of class time, having the student meet with instructor or TA individually to discuss topic area or submitting reflection/summary of topic when student is unable to participate due to disability. Student is required to meet with their instructor at the beginning of the term to discuss the use of their accommodation, and to come up with an arrangement taking into consideration the essential requirements of the course. Instructors are invited to reach out to the SAS Coordinator to discuss further.

Student may require additional supports/aids or alternative means to meet classroom presentation requirements. Students should reach out to their Instructor to discuss this accommodation at the beginning of the term. Examples of accommodations may include allowing student to present to just the Instructor, student to video record their presentation, student allowed to bring notes to the presentation etc. Instructors are invited to reach out to the SAS Coordinator to discuss further.
Additional Break During Question Period: Thesis Defense

Student may request an additional break during the question period. Student is expected to complete the questions from committee member before requesting break. SAS to discuss the limits of this accommodation with faculty, e.g., how many breaks, maximum time allowance to ensure committee members are scheduled accordingly.

Student may request an additional break during the question period if impacted by disability. Student is expected to complete the questions from committee member before requesting break.
